While many have their sights set on Noah’s upcoming adidas collaboration, the brand is prepping the release of another joint effort, arriving in less than 24 hours. Noah has in turn partnered with Timex to launch a collaborative watch, all in the name of marine life preservation.
Cheekily referred to as the Noah x Timex Ghost Nets Suck Watch, the timepiece calls attention to waterway pollution, specifically by ghost nets. Ghost nets are abandoned, non-biodegradable nets that eventually destroy marine ecosystems, left in the water by commercial fisherman.
Noah first targeted such pollution a little over two years ago with the release of the Ghost Nets Suck! tee. As the issue remains, the brand has brought back the same turtle mascot, here featured on the Noah x Timex Waterbury watch.
Based on the Timex 38mm Waterbury, the watch features a stainless steel case, Timex’s INDIGLO backlight, and 50 meters of water resistance, in addition to a 100 percent recycled polyester band by We aRe SpinDye, a company whose dyeing process reduces the use of water and chemicals in its production.
The Noah x Timex watch ($125) will be available beginning November 26 at 11 a.m. EST on noahny.com. Ten percent of the proceeds will go to Ocean Defenders Alliance, an organization responsible for physically removing ghost nets and other harmful fishing debris from the ocean.
